Culinary Student
Maurice Ntirenganya
Before students were sent home, Maurice was studying culinary arts. He is 16 years old and wants to be a chef in a 5-star hotel. His mother has worked hard to raise her eight kids alone, doing odd jobs that provide some money to feed her children.
Due to the lock down, Maurice’s mother cannot earn income to feed her family or provide basic needs. When presented a HOME CARE KIT with life-saving food, Maurice’s said: “we really do not have words to thank you enough but only God knows and He will bless you!”
Hairdressing graduate
Perpetue Kabanyana
As a young girl, Perpetue Kabanyana wanted to start her own business. To pursue her dream of opening a hair salon in Kigali, she studied at Hope Vocational Training Center and graduated in the class of 2019.
Due to Covid-19, Perpetue is not able to work in her chosen field. Without income, she and her mother moved to her grandmother’s house which is tiny and in need of significant repair.
We delivered food and sanitary supplies to Perpetue, her mother and grandmother. Upon receiving their HOME CARE KIT and with tears in her eyes, Perpetue exclaimed, “may God bless the donors of these amazing gifts”.
